On Saturday, January 8, the three oldest Keller boys had their first flag football games. They are playing for a league called I-9, which is competitive, yet encouraging and character focused. Daniel is on a team with three of his best buddies: Connor Cayman and Tucker. These big boys love running fast and playing together! Benjamin is on a team with his life-long friend Brayden. They play for the Red Raiders and he loves it. Ethan is on a team called the Falcons. These 5 and 6 year olds just love to have fun. They don't think much about what they are doing, but they always have smiles on their faces. Ethan is thrilled to be playing with his best friend, Evan. We are looking forward to a great FOOTBALL season!!
As a requirement for his Wolf Badge in Cub Scouts, Benjamin had to plan and cook dinner for his family one night. Friday, January 7 was the date of Benji's dinner debut. He searched for the perfect recipes, helped mom plan the shopping list and did as much of the cooking as possible. He set the table by himself and helped clean up as well. For dinner, we had Super Burgers, fries and homemade 100% fruit punch. It was delicious. Way to go Chef Benjamin!
On Thursday, January 6, we went to cheer on Uncle Vince as his team, Wreaking Havoc, played an early evening game in Chandler. Uncle Vince did great, his team played hard and we enjoyed ourselves--even though his team did not win. Thanks for inviting us to your game, Uncle Vince!
After a full morning of present-opening, it was time to welcome our special Christmas guests. Just after noon, Grandma Bettie, Grandpa Ron, Uncle Andy, Cousin Loren and Cousin Aubrey arrived. We all sat around the dining room table and enjoyed a lunch of ham, potatoes, green beans and rolls. Then we got right down to the business of opening piles of presents. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing, the kids played and we ate dessert. What a perfect Christmas day. We are so blessed and so thankful!
We wrote a letter, set out cookies, put carrots out for the reindeer, hung our stockings, said our prayers and covered up our heads . . . and Santa Claus came that night! Ethan and Noah went right to sleep. But, Daniel and Benjamin were so excited they couldn't go to sleep that easily. But, soon enough, everyone was asleep and then the big guy made his annual visit! The kids were so excited to see the presents that Santa left. We opened all of our gifts, ate yummy cinnamon rolls and then got ready for a family-filled Christmas afternoon! It's so sweet to see the boys get so excited about Christmas!
Bright, blue-eyed Benjamin is the second oldest Keller brother. He is six and a half and a great reader and a quick learner. He loves to do all things that are boyish. And, loves being with his friends. He's known for being the quiet one, but there is a lot brewing inside his mind. When Benjamin wakes up in the morning, he wants to know where we are going and who we will be seeing.
